      President Beacon Building Company. Secretary to Governor Stanley. Governor of Kansas, 1919-1923.

      Appointed United States senator to succeed Vice-president Curtis, 1929. Appointed assistant to Charles G. Dawes, president Reconstruction Finance Corporation, 1932. Editor of Topeka State Journal since 1935.

      Director publicity for Republican National Committee Hoover-Curtis Campaign, 1928, 1932. President Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Tidewater Association.

    Politics

    The state should not attempt to control the church, nor should the church seek to dominate the state. The separation of church and state should not be misconstrued as the abolition of all religious expression from public life.

Special commissioner for Near East Relief to investigate work in Southern Russia, Armenia, Syria, Turkey, Greece, Palestine and Persia, 1924. In France under auspices American Red Cross, 1917, 1918.

    Member Delta Tau Delta. Clubs: Wichita, Kansas, Country, Kiwanis (Wichita).
