BRAND, Charles Hillyer was born on April 20, 1861 in Loganville, Walton Company, Georgia. Son of Egbert M. and Julia Ann (Cooper) Brand.

Winn, Lawrenceville, Georgia 1886, ten years after first wife’s death, married Mary Dixon Hutchins (daughter of Judge Nathan L. Hutchins, Lawrenceville, Georgia, died 1912). Admitted to Bar 1882, at Lawrenceville, Georgia. Elected to Georgia Senate, 1894-1895, and was pres, pro Tempore of that body.
Elected Solicitor General Western Judicial Circuit of Georgia by General Assembly for 4 years 1896, re-elected 4 years by popular vote 1920. Appointed Judge Superior Court by Governor Terrell to fill unexpired term. Elected Judge, Superior Court 1906, re-elected 1910 and 1914.
Elected to 65 Congress 1917, re-elected to 66, 67, 68, 69, 70, 71 Congresses. Elected member Board of Directors Southern Mutual Insurance Company, of Athens, Georgia 1927. Elected President Brand Banking Company of Lawrenceville, Georgia 1928.
Grand Master, Independent Order of Odd Fellows of Georgia 1897-1898.
