Member of Independent Order of Odd Fellows; Exalted Ruler of Elks Lodge; Minister in Christian Church (since 1894); Company and State Bar Associations Veterans of Foreign Wars and Spanish War Veterans (Honorary).     • Taught school (5 years) in Chautauqua Company, read law while teaching. Admitted to practice 1880. Elected Justice of Peace 1882 while teaching school.

      Began practice of law at Elk City, Kansas, 1884. Elected Company Attorney of Montgomery Company. Kansas, 1890; Secretary Democrat Congressional Committee, 3 District Kansas, 1891-1892.

      Chairman of Kansas 1900. Active in party work in campaign of 1896. Attended Democrat National Convention, St. Louis 1904 at Denver, 1908.

      Elected Company Attorney of Montgomery Company Kansas 1906. Came to Bartlesville, Oklahoma, 1908. Began practice of law.

      Delegate to Kiwanis International Convention at Seattle, Washington, 1928. Appointed by Governor Robert L. Williams Captain of Home Guard of Washington Company 1917, organized a company of 160 mentor Served as Four Minute Man and member of counsel of defense through War. Appointed by Governor J. B. A. Robertson Judge of 30 Judicial District of Oklahoma 1921-1923.

      Appointed Judge by Governor M. E. Trapp, and elected since 1926.
