Epidemiologist; Professor; Doctor of Medicine Science; full member, USSR Academy of Medical Science, since 1960; Head, Chair of Epidemiology, Yerevan Medicine Institute, since 1935; Honoured Worker of Science of Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic since 1960.       Member, Editor Council, “Zhumal mikrobiologii, epidemiologii i immunobiologii” (Journal of Microbiology, Epidemiology and Immunobiology), etc. Works deal with Armenian regional pathology, epidemiology, immunity and prophylaxis of diphtheria and dysentery. 1916-1927 military physician in Russia, then Red Army.

      1927-1935 Head, 1st Sanitation and Hygiene Laboratory, Armenian Research Institute of Microbiology and Epidemiology, Yerevan. 1935-1940 Chief State Sanitary Inspector, Armenian Popular Commissariat of Health.
