    • Since 1919 in Red Army. Until World War II on staffs of units ant rail, districts. 1941-1942, as Major-General, then Lieutenant-General, Chief of Staff, Southern, and 1942-1944 North Caucasian, then Transcaucasian Fronts.

      1944-1945 Deputy Chief, then s. February 1945 as Colonel-General, Chief of General Staff, USSR Armed Forces. S. World War II until 1954 Commander, Transcaucasian Military District.

      1945 member, Soviet delegation at Yalta Conference. Elected member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party Lithuania Georgia. Deputy, USSR Supreme Soviet of 1946, 1950, 1954 and 1958 convocation.
