Yan Matveevich BERZIN

Yan BERZIN, USSR Zootechnician. Full member, Latvia Academy of Sciences, since 1951; Honoured Worker of Science of Latvian Soviet Socialist Republic since 1953; Professor, Latvia Agriculture Academy since 1944; Director, Latvia Research Institute of Stockraising and Veterinary Science, since 1949. Member, Communist Party, since 1920.

    • 1934_44 Learned Secretary, Stockraising Section, Lenin All-Union Academy, of Agriculture Science. 1944-1949 Latvia Deputy Minister of Agriculture. Works deal with use of trace elements in feeding farm animals and poultry, which contributed to elimination of phthisis in Latvia.

    Member, Communist Party, since 1920.
