Povilas BRAZHDYUNAS, USSR Physicist. Professor; Head, Chair of Experimental Physics, Vilnius University; full member, Lithuania Academy of Sciences, since 1956; Honored Science Worker of Lithuanian Soviet Socialist Republic since 1957.

    Career

    • 1926-1940 taught at Kaunas University. Since 1940 taught at Vilnius University. Associate, Institute of Physics and Mathematics, Lithuania Academy of Sciences.

      1949-1956 corresponding member, Lithuania Academy of Sciences. Works on physics of semiconductors. Directs research on optical and photoelectric properties of sulphur, selenium and tellurium compounds.

      Engaged in research on electrical properties of systems of fine semiconductor layers.

    Religion

    God can not be proven by science which is the main way we study and understand our universe or natural world.

    Views

    Marxism–Leninism as the only truth could not, by its very nature, become outdated.
