  • BUGOVA, Liya was born in 1900 in Nemirov, now Vinnitsa Oblast.

  • Career

    • Since 1919 volunteer in Red Army. Took part in Red Ajrmy amateur drama activities. 1920 professional stage debut in Vinnitsa.

      1922-1938 at theaters in Kiev and Odessa. Best roles: the Mother in Chapenko’s “Mat” (Mother). Anna in the stage version of Tolstoy's “Anna Karenina”.

      Ulyanova in Popov’s “Semya” (The Family). Sofya in Gorky's “Poslednie” (The Last Ones). Ranevskaya in Chekhov's “Vishnevy sad” (The Cherry Orchard), etc.
