Yelizaveta CHAVDAR, USSR Singer, soprano. Soloist, Shevchenko Academy Theater of Opera and Ballet, Kiev, since 1948; Popular Artist of USSR since 1952. Order of Lenin; Order of Red Banner of Labor, 1960; prize at Berlin International Singers’ Contest, 1951. Member, Communist Party, since 1953.

      Antonida and Lyudmila in Glinka’s “Ivan Susanin” and “Ruslan i Lyudmila” (Ruslan and Ludmilla). The Swan Princess in Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Skazka о tsare Saltane” (The Tale of Tsar Saltan). Gilda and Violetta in Verdi’s “Rigoletto” and “La Traviata”, etc.

      Since 1949 has performed in Austria, Burma, Greece, India, Canada, China, Norway, Sweden, Yugoslavia and other countries.
