Semen DRECHIN, USSR Ballet dancer. Choreographer; Honoured Artist of Belorussian Soviet Socialist Republic since 1945; Popular Artist of Belorussian Soviet Socialist Republic since 1954. Badge of Honor, 1940; Stalin Prize, 1950; Order of Red Banner of Labor, 1955.

    Career

    • Since 1932 at Belarusian Theater of Opera and Ballet, Minsk. Roles: Franz in “Coppelia”. The Prince in “Lebedinoe ozero” (Swan Lake).

      Khan Girey and Vlatslav in “Bakhchisaraysky fontan” (The Fountain of Bakhchisaray). Basilio in “Don Kikhot” (Don Quixote). Ivan Tsarevich in “Konek-Gorbunok” (The Unicorn).

      Kollen in “Tshchetnaya predostorozhnost” (Vain Precaution). After World War II arranged ballets: “Esmeralda”. “The Fountain of Bakhchisaray”.

      “Krasny mak” (The Red Poppy). “Ispankoe kaprichchio” (Spanish Caprice), etc. 1961 worked on new production of “Poema о lyubvi” (A Poem of Love) at Moldavia Theater of Opera and Ballet, Kishinev.
