Vitaliy EDELSHTEYN, USSR Professor, and Head, Chair of Vegetable-Growing, Timiryazev Agriculture Academy, Moscow, since 1923. Doctor of Agriculture Science; honorary member, All-Union Lenin Academy, of Agriculture Science, since 1956. Stalin Prize, 1946; three Order of Lenin; Badge of Honor; Hero of Socialist Labor, 1961; medals. Member, Communist Party, since 1952.

      1902-1907 at Chair of Botany, St. Petersburg University, 1907-1913 Instructor, Uspenskoe School of Arable Farming. 1913-1916 Head, Tula Market Gardening Station. 1916-1923 Professor, Moscow Agriculture Institute, now the Timiryazev Agriculture Academy.
