      Corresponding member, USSR Academy of Science, since 1958. Director, Institute of Asian Peoples (until 1960 Institute of Oriental Studies), USSR Academy of Science, since 1956. Bureau member,Department of History Science, USSR Academy of Science, since 1957.

      Chief Editor, journal “Sovremenny Vostok” (The East Today), since 1957. Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, 1952-1961. Specialist in recent and contemporary hist, of peoples of the East.

      1956 member, USSR Parliamentary Group at 45th Inter-Parliamentary Conference, Bangkok. 1957 headed Soviet delegation, to 24th International Congress of Orientalists, Munich. Since 1958 Chairman, Soviet Committee Implementation of the UNESCO East-West Project, and also Chairman, Organization Committee Convening 25th Congress of Orientalists.

      1960 Pres, of this Congress, held in Moscow. Chairman, Learned Council for the Study of the History, of the National Liberation Struggle Against Colonialism and History, of the Development of the Eastern Countries,Department of History Science, USSR Academy of Science. Deputy, Tadzhikistan Soviet of 1938 and 1955 convocation.

      Deputy, USSR Supreme Soviet of 1946, 1954 and 1958 convocation. Since 1958 member, Commission for Foreign Affairs, Soviet of Nationalities, USSR Supreme Soviet. 1929-1932 Department Head, then Assistant Editor, newspaper “Krasny Tadzhikstan”.

      1935 again Deputy Editor, then Editor of above newspaper. 1936-1940 instructor, then Section Head, Deputy Department Head, and Department Head, Central Committee, Communist Party (Bolsheviks) Tadzhikistan. 1941-1944 Secretary, Central Committee, Communist Party (Bolsheviks) Tadzhikistan.

      1944-1946 Second. Seer, and 1946-1956 First Secretary, Central Committee, Communist Party Tadzhikistan.
