Stepan KECHEKYAN, USSR Lawyer. Doctor of Legal Science; Professor 1942, and Head, Chair of State and Legal History, Moscow University.
KECHEKYAN, Stepan was born in 1890.
1911 graduated Law Faculty, Moscow University.
Works on theory and hist, of state and law and hist, of political doctrines. Since 1911 postgrad, student, then lecturer, Moscow University. 1915-1922 instructor at higher education establishments in Moscow, Saratov and Rostov-on-Don.
Since 1922 instructor at various Moscow higher education establishments. Moscow Law Institute, All-Union Law Academy, All-Union Corresp. Institute of Law, Institute of International Relations and Academy, of Society Science, Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.
1928-1931 Professor, Azerbaydzhan University. 1956 member, Soviet delegation at International Sociological Congress, at which he presented a paper on “Social Evolution and the Law”. 1958 and 1959 lectured on Soviet law at International Faculty, Luxembourg.
Member, Editor Board, journal “Vestnik moskovskogo universiteta” (Moscow University Herald). Member, Soviet-Iraq Friendship Society.
