Vladimir Aleksandrovich KOTELNIKOV
KOTELNIKOV, Vladimir was born on September 6, 1908 in Kazan.
- Graduated from the Moscow Molotov Institute of Power Engineering, 1931.
Radio and electronics engineer by profession. Professor and dean of the Department of Radio Engineering at the same institute, 1931-1937, and in 1947 professor and head of the Department of Radio Engineering Principles. Director of the Institute of Radio Engineering and Electronics, 1954.
Vice-president of the USSR Academy of Sciences, 1970. Many decorations: Stalin Prize, Lenin Prizes and medals. Academician and chairman of Intercosmos, the Soviet International Space Office throughout the 1980s.
Acts as a link between the Soviet government and scientists in the USSR.
