KOTOV, Aleksandr was born in 1913.
Chess player of combined attack style. 1939 placed 2nd in USSR Championship. In 1945 radio match with United States of America team won both games against American chess master I. Cageden.
In 1948 USSR Championship tied for 1st and 2nd places with D. Bronshteyn. 1950 placed 1st in international tournament in Venice. 1952 placed 1st in international tournament in Stockholm.
1958 competed in 13th Chess Olympics, Munich.
