    Career

    • 1932-1935 actor, Youth Opera Theater. 1935-1937 at Leningrad Maly Academy Opera Theater. 1937-1940 soloist, Yerevan Theater of Opera and Ballet.

      Has performed in Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Rumania, Hungary, Austria, German Federal Republic, Finland, Iraq, Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands, Iceland, etc. Best roles: Onegin, Yeletsky and Mazeppa in Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin”, “Pikovaya Dama” (The Queen of Spades) and “Mazeppa”. Valetin in Gounod’s “Faust”.

      Germon in Verdi’s “La Traviata”. Amonasro in Verdi’s “Aida”. Ryleev in Shaporin’s “Dekabristy” (The Decembrists), etc.
