Sbevket MAMEDOVA, USSR Singer (coloratura soprano). Professor, Azerbaydzhan Conservatory, since 1949; Popular Artist of USSR since 1936. Order of Red Banner of Labor, 1959.

    • 1920-1948 soloist, Akhundov Theater of Opera and Ballet, Baku. Since 1945 instructor, Azerbaydzhan Conservatory, Baku. Has toured in USSR and abroad.

      Deputy, Azerbaydzhan Supreme Soviet of 1943, 1947, 1951 and 1955 convocation, roles: Nergiz in Magomaev’s “Nergiz”. Gyulchokhra in Gadzhibekov’s “Arshin mal alan”. Shakhsenem in Glier’s “Shakhsenem”.

      Rosina in Rossini’s “The Barber of Seville”. Snegurochka in Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Snegurochka” (The Snow Maiden). Antonida in Glinka’s “Ivan Susanin”.
