    • In his youth stoker and machine operator. Since 1918 in Soviet Navy. 1928-1932 commanded motor torpedo boat units in the Baltic, and 1932-1938 in the Pacific Fleets.

      1938-1939 Commander, Amur Naval Flotilla. 1939-1948 Commander, Black Sea Fleet. 1941-1942, by virtue of above post, headed defense of Sebastopol.

      1949-1952 First Deputy Commander in Chief, Soviet Navy. Deputy, USSR Supreme Soviet of 1937 and 1946 convocation.
