    • 1908 graduated Natural Science Department, Physico-Mathematical Faculty, St. Petersburg University.


    • Professor 1914; Doctor of Biological Science. Full member, USSR Academy of Science, since 1942. Full member, USSR Academy of Medical Science, since 1944.

      Full member, Ukrainia Academy of Sciences, since 1929. Professor, of Biochemistry, Kiev Medicine Institute and Kiev University, since 1934. Director, Ukrainia Institute of Biochemistry, Kiev, since 1931.

      Honoured Worker of Science of Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic since 1935. 1908-1914 specialized in physiology and physiological chemistry in Russ, and abroad. 1920 Trade-Union worker.

      1925 organized Ukrainia Biochemical Institute, Kharkov Head, Kharkov Bureau and Ukrainia Bureau of the Section of Science Workers. 1925-1926 member, Kharkov City Soviet. 1926-1929 corresponding member, Ukrainia Academy of Sciences.

      1926-1930 Chairman, Kharkov Medicine Society. Since 1926 Permanent Editor, first Ukrainia biochemical journal “Naukovi zapysky Ukrainskogo biokhimychnogo instytutu” (Scientific Notes of the Ukrainian Biochemical Institute). Since 1934 Editor, “Ukrainsky biokhimychny zhurnal” (Ukrainian Biochemical Journal).

      Since 1928 founder and permanent Chairman, Ukrainia Physiological Society. Founder, Society for Cooperation Among Scientists. Regular participant, Ukrainia and All-Union congresses of scientists, physiologists, biochemists, etc.

      1929 member, AllUkr. Central Executive Committee. 1930-1932 candidate member, Communist Party. Since 1950 honorary member.

      Belarusian Academy of Sciences. 1955-1959 Chairman, Central Council, All-Union Society of Physiologists, Biochemists and Pharmacologists. Deputy, USSR Supreme Soviet of 1946, 1950, 1954 and 1958 convocation.

      Deputy Ukrainia Supreme Soviet of 1959 convocation. Presidium member, Ukrainia Supreme Soviet. Works deal with; creatine.

      Muscular and nervous systems. Biochemistry of muscular fatique. Cerebral biochemistry.

      Metabolic disorders; avitaminosis. Hypovitaminosis vitamin conversion in the tissues of animal organisms. 1955 attended International Conference on the Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy, Geneva.

      1956 attended 20th International Congress of Physiologists, Brussels. 1914-1916 Professor, of Physiology, Stebutov Agriculture Courses, Petrograd. 1916-1921 Professor, Kharkov Institute of Agriculture and Forestry.

      1921-1925 Professor, Kharkov Medicine Institute. 1925-1931 Director, Ukrainia Biochemical Institute, Kharkov, now Kiev Institute of Biochemistry, Ukrainia Academy of Sciences. 1946-1962 President, Ukrainia Academy of Sciences.


    Member, Communist Party, since 1932.
