    Career

    • 1930-1934 at Institute of Fertilizers. 1934-1935 member, Tadzhikistan-Pamir expedition, USSR Academy of Science. 1935-1952 associate, 1952-1961 Deputy Director, Geology Institute, USSR Academy of Science.

      Specialist in regional and theoretical tectonics, stratigraphy, magnetism and metallogeny. Studies various types of geological faults. Works deal with asymmetry of abyssal structures and conditions for the formation and development of geosynclines.

      Discovered several bauxite, phosphorite and potassium salt deposits. 1956 helped compile tectonic map of USSR.

    Politics

    Member, Communist Party, since 1953.

    Religion is bad because it gets people to believe something untrue.

    Marxism–Leninism as the only truth could not, by its very nature, become outdated.
