      Director, Leningrad Inter-Institute Seminar on Radiobiology and the Physics of Penetrating Radiation, since 1954. Chief Radiologist, USSR Ministry of Health, since 1959. Honoured Worker of Science Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic since 1960.

      1954 founded Inter-Institute Seminar on Radiobiology and the Physics of Penetrating Radiation. Since 1956 permanent USSR representative, International Commission for Protection Against Radiation. Board member and Deputy Chairman, All-Union and Leningrad Science Society of Roentgenologists and Radiologists.

      Since 1956 Assistant Editor, journal “Meditsinskaya radiologiya” (Medical Radiology). Since 1957 board member, All-Union Society of Oncologists, and Deputy Chairman, Leningrad Society of Oncologists. Со-Editor, “Radiobiology” section, “Bolshaya meditsinskaya entsiklopediya” (Large Medical Encyclopedia), 2nd edition.

      Member, Editor Council, journals “Voprosy onkologii” (Problems of Oncology) and “Vestnik rentgenologii i radiologii” (Herald of Roentgenology and Radiology). Deputy, Leningrad Rayon and City Soviet. 1955 presented paper at International Congress of Radiologists in Cambridge.

      1956-1957 visited United States of America, France, and Sweden to study organ, of roentgenology and radiotherapy at oncological institutions of these countries. 1959 headed Soviet delegate at 8th World Congress of Radiologists in Mexico and at 9th World Congress in Munich. Author of over 70 works dealing with roentgenology, radiology, therapy, diagnostics and prophylaxis of precancer conditions and cancer of female genitals.
