Aleksandr PREDVODITELEV, USSR Physicist. Corresponding member, USSR Academy of Science, since 1939; Professor, Moscow University, since 1930; Director of a laboratory, Power Engineering Institute, USSR Academy of Science, since 1938. Order of Lenin; three other orders; medals; Stalin Prize, 1949.

1915 graduated Moscow University.
Specialist in molecular physics, hydrodynamics and thermophysics. Developed theory of heterogeneous combustion linking chemical and physical processes and controlling carbon combustion. The theory finds wide application in Soviet technican.
