Dmitriy PROTSENKO, USSR Biologist. Doctor of Biological Science since 1940; Professor, and Head, Chair of Physiology and Biochemistry, Kiev University, and Director, University Botanical Gardens, since 1944; corresponding member, Ukrainia Academy, of Agriculture Science, since 1959.
PROTSENKO, Dmitriy was born in 1899 in village Maly Buzukov, now Kiev Oblast.
1925 graduated Kiev Institute of Public Education. 1931 completed postgrad, course at Ukrainia Research Institute of Phytoculture, Kharkov.
192528 instructor in biology, Gorodishche Agriculture Tcchnicum. Since 1927 Assistant, Chair of Botany, Cherkassy Pedagogical Institute. 1929-1932 senior instructor, since 1932 lecturer, Chair of Botany, Poltava Agriculture Institute.
1933-1936 Head, Laboratory of Plant Physiology, Ukrainia Horticulture Research Institute. Simultaneously Acting Head, Chair of Botany, Cherkassy Pedagogical Institute. 1937-1940 Acting Head, Chair of Plant Physiology and Agriculture Microbiology, Azov and Black Sea Agriculture Institute, Novocherkassk.
1940-1944 Head, Chair of Physiology and Agriculture Microbiology, Saratov Agriculture Institute, and Head, Chair of Plant Physiology, Saratov University. 1944-1952 simultaneously Acting Head,Department of Physiology and Biochemistry, Ukrainia Agriculture Research Institute. 1944-1955 Acting Head, Chair of Microbiology and Biochemistry, Kiev Chemical Technology Institute.
Since 1957 Acting Head,Department of Plant Resistance, Ukrainia Research Institute of Plant Physiology.
