Doctor of Arts since 1941; Professor, Kiev Conservatory since 1935; board member, Ukrainia Union of Composers, since 1932, and USSR Union of Composers, since 1948; Honoured Art Worker of Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic since 1941; Popular Artist of USSR since 1943. two Order of Lenin, 1949, 1953; three Order of Red Banner of Labor, 1938, 1948, 1951; medals; Stalin Prize, 1941.

    • 1916 graduated Law Faculty, Kiev University, and Kiev Conservatory.

    Career

    • 1916-1918 in Tsarist Army. 1924-1941 and since 1944 instructor, Kiev Music and Drama Institute. 1933-1935 instructor, since 1935 Professor, Kiev Conservatory.

      1941-1944 Professor, and Head, Chair of Composition and Musical History, Tashkent Conservatory. 1944-1948 and 1952-1956 Chairman, Ukrainia Union of Composers.
