      Since 1919 in Red Army as brigade and division commander. Took part in fighting against Denikin and in suppression of revolt against Soviet regime in Dagestan, Azerbaydzhan, Ferghana and Bukhara. 1927-1930 Deputy Commander, Belarusian Military District.

      1930-1934 Chief, Board of Military Training Establishments. 1934-1936 Chief, Zhukovsky Air Force Academy. Since 1936 Chief, Soviet Army Advanced Military Training Establishments.

      Since 1955 in reserve.
