Mustafa TOPCHIBASHEV, USSR Surgeon. Doctor of Medicine Science; full member since 1945; Presidium member since 1957, and V.-President since 1960, Azerbaydzhan Academy of Sciences; full member, USSR Academy of Medical Science, since 1960; Professor, since 1930, Head, since 1957, 1st Chair of Faculty Surgery, Azerbaydzhan Medicine Institute; Honoured Worker of Science of Azerbaydzhan Soviet Socialist Republic. Member, Communist Party, since 1947.

    • 1919-1927 surgeon in Azerbaydzhan medical institutions. 1927-1930 senior Assistant, Azerbaydzhan Medicine Institute. 1941-1945 Chief Surgeon, Board of Evacuation Hospitals, Azerbaydzhan Popular Commissariat of Health.

      1945-1948 Director, Institute of Experimental Medicine, Azerbaydzhan Academy of Sciences. 1945-1951 simultaneously Academy Secretary,Department of Biological and Agriculture Science, Azerbaydzhan Academy of Sciences. 1951-1957 V.-President, Azerbaydzhan Academy of Sciences.

      1947-1960 corresponding member, USSR Academy of Medical Science. Since 1952 member, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Deputy, Azerbaydzhan Supreme Soviet of 1955 and 1959 convocation.

      Chairman, Azerbaydzhan Committee the Defense of Peace. Member, Soviet Committee the Defense of Peace. Со-Editor, “Surgery” section, “Bolshaya meditsinskaya entsiklopediya” (Large Medical Encyclopedia).

      Since 1960 honorary member, All-Union Society of Surgeons. Solved many problems of anesthesia in surgery and obstetrics, and complications of malaria, portal hypertension, gallstone disease, peripheral paralyses, etc.

    Member, Communist Party, since 1947.

    Since religion offers a complete set of answers to the problems of purpose, morality, origins, or science, it discourages exploration of those areas by suppressing curiosity, denies its followers a broader perspective, and prevents social, moral and scientific progress.

    Views

    Marxism–Leninism as the only truth could not, by its very nature, become outdated.
