Mirzo TURSUN-ZADE, USSR Tadz. writer. Full member, Tadzhikistan Academy of Sciences, since 1951; Chairman, Tadzhikistan Union of Writers, since 1958; Secretary, USSR Union of Writers, since 1959; member, Soviet Committee the Defense of Peace, since 1949; 1956-1961 Chairman, Soviet Committee the Solidarity of Afro-Asian Peoples; member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party Lithuania Tadzhikistan since 1946.

  • TURSUN-ZADE, Mirzo was born in 1911 in village Kartag, now Tadzhikistan.

    • Graduated Tashkent Institute of Education.

    Career

    • 1930 work first published. 1947 visited India, Indonesia, China, and other eastern countries. 1956 member, USSR Parliamentary Conference in Bangkok.

      1957 helped prepare for Cairo Conference for the Solidarity of the AfroAsian Peoples. 1958 one of inspirers and organizers of Tashkent Conference of AfroAsian Writers, and 1960 for Soviet Conference for the Solidarity of Afro-Asian Peoples, Stalinabad. Deputy, USSR Supreme Soviet of 1946, 1950, 1954 and 1958 convocation.
