    • Со-Editor, “Physiology section, “Bolshaya meditsinskaya entsiklopediya” (Large Medical Encyclopedia), 2nd edition. Member, Editor Council, journal “Fiziologichesky zhurnal USSR im. I. M. Sechenova” (Sechenov Physiological Journal of the USSR).

      1925-1937 developed hypothesis of two types of inhibition. 1925 established basic quantitative law of threshold parabiosis. 1937 studied phenomenon of restoration of nerve and muscle functions by electrical current, especially of the heart.

      1944 demonstrated parabiotic nature of electronarcosis and local and general anaphylaxis. 1954 detected parabiosis-eliminating influences originating from central nervous system. Works deal with physiology and biophysics of nervous processes.

      1915-1920 instructor in biology at Ufa gymnasia. 1921-1948 Head,Department of Physiology, Bekhterev Brain Institute, Leningrad.
