Vadim VASILEV, USSR Entomologist. Full member, Ukrainia Academy, of Agriculture Science, since 1959; Director, Ukrainia Research Institute of Plant Protection, Ukrainia Academy of Sciences, since 1956. Member, Communist Party, since 1942.

    • 1935-1936 at Ukrainia Research Institute of Viticulture and Viniculture. 1936-1953 at Ukrainia Research Institute of Fruitgrowing, now the Ukrainia Research Institute of Horticulture. 1953-1956 Director, Institute of Entomology and Phytopathology, Ukrainia Academy of Sciences, now the Ukrainia Research Institute for Plant Protection, Ukrainia Academy of Sciences.

      Developed system of combatting fruit and soft fruit pests for various zones of the Ukrainia. Directed research on effective methods of combatting beet weevils.

    Politics

    Member, Communist Party, since 1942.

    Since religion offers a complete set of answers to the problems of purpose, morality, origins, or science, it discourages exploration of those areas by suppressing curiosity, denies its followers a broader perspective, and prevents social, moral and scientific progress.

    Marxism–Leninism as the only truth could not, by its very nature, become outdated.
