Sergey VERSHINSKY, USSR Specialist in electrovacuum engineer. Director, Vacuum Research Institute, since 1947; full member, USSR Academy of Science, since 1953. Order of Lenin, 1956, “Hammer and Sickle” Gold Medal; Hero of Socialist Labor, 1956; Stalin Prize, 1946. Member, Communist Party, since 1940.
