      1956-1961 candidate member of the Central Committee, Communist Party of the Soviet Union. Deputy, Russian Soviet Federated Socialist Republic Supreme Soviet of 1955 convocation. Deputy, USSR Supreme Soviet of 1958 convocation.

      Deputy Chairman, Soviet-Chinese Friendship Society. 1959 accompanied Khrushchev to United States of America. 1960 headed Soviet delegation to China on occassion of 10th anniversary of signing of Treaty of Friendship, Unity and Mutual Aid between the USSR and China.
