Yakov ZAK, Pianist; Professor, Moscow Conservatory, since 1947; Popular Artist Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic. 3rd Prize at 2nd All-Union Competition for Musical Performers, 1935; 1st Prize and Special Prize for interpretration of Chopin’s mazurkas at Chopin International Competition For Pianists, Warsaw, 1937. Member, Communist Party, since 1943.
