Nikolay Mikhaylovich ZHAVORONKOV

Nikolay ZHAVORONKOV, USSR Chemical technologist. Professor 1942; corresponding member, USSR Academy of Science, since 1953; Director, Mendeleev Chemical Technology Institute, Moscow, since 1948. Member, Communist Party, since 1939.

    • 1930 graduated Moscow Chemical Technology Institute.


    • 1930-1942 instructor, 1942-1948 Professor, Moscow Chemical Technology Institute. Since 1944 simultaneously Professor, Karpov Physicochemical Institute. 1960 Bureau member,Department of Chemical Science, USSR Academy of Science.

      Main works deal with hydrodynamics and aerodynamics of scrubbers and fractionators and separation of isotopes and liquid and solid mixtures.


    Member, Communist Party, since 1939.


    Religion is bad because it stops people thinking in a rational and objective way.


    Marxism–Leninism as the only truth could not, by its very nature, become outdated.
