    Career

    • Instructor and member, Leningrad Sports Society “Trud”. 1949 set All-Union records for girls (17-18 age group) in javelin, grenade throwing and shot-put events. Seven times USSR Javelin Champion.

      Since 1950 has taken part in many international competitions. 1952 Olympic Shot-put Champion. 1954 European Shot-put Champion at Berne.

      At 1956 Melborne Olympics, 2nd in shot-put event. At 1960 Rome Olympics failed to win medal. 1956 set World, European and Soviet record in shot-put event and held this record until 1959.
