Mr. Miller earned a Master of Music degree from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Music degree from Bowling Green State University. He studied orchestral conducting with Elizabeth Green and Kenneth Holland.
Mr. Miller has performed with the Detroit Concert Band, Toledo Concert Band, Toledo Symphony, and the Toledo Jazz Orchestra. He has appeared as a soloist with the Toledo Concert Band, Toledo Jazz Orchestra, Perrysburg Sumphony, and the University of Michigan Symphonic Band. Mr. Miller’s geist conducting engagements have included the Toledo Symphony, Perrysburg Symphony, University of Michigan Campus Orchestra, and the Eastern Kentucky University Summer Orchestra. His musical compositions and arrangements have been performed by the Toledo Symphony, Toledo Concert Band, Arkansas Symphony, Firelands Symphony, Perrysburg Symphony and the Toledo Youth Orchestra.
Mr. Miller served as Chariman for the committee of music instructors that founded the Toledo Junior Youth Orchestra in 1979 and the Toledo All City String Orchestra in 1981. In 2000 Michal Miller and Andrew Sewell initiated the Toledo Symphony/Toledo Youth Orchestra Side By Side concerts. He was a lifetime member of the Toledo Federation of Musicians and was a professional Musician for over sixty years.
Mr. Miller holds memberships in the following scholastic honorary societies: Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Phi Kappa Delta, Phi Kappa Lambda, Omicron Delta Kappa, and Pi Eta Sigma.
