Professor of law at Moscow University before World War I. Professor of Tavricheskii University and the Law Institute at Sebastopol during the Civil War, 1919. Evacuated with the White Army to Constantinople, where he tried to organize a Russian university for refugees. Moved to Prague, lectured at the Russian Law Institute, founded by P. Novgorodtsev.
Moved to Berlin, 1922. Became a prominent member of the Eurasian movement in the mid- 1920s.
