Lived in Western Belorussia. After the occupation of the region by the Red Army at the beginning of W WII, arrested and sent to the Gulag camps, 1941. Released, 1946. Lived in provincial Russia.
Wrote about her experience in the concentration camps for women at Narym during Stalin’s time. This work circulated in samizdat and was published in the USA in the mid-1960s, attracting wide attention.
