Editor. Became close to B. Pasternak, who dedicated some of his post-war poetry to her. Described as Lara in Doctor Zhivago. Arrested, 1949. Sentenced to 5 years in prison camps.
Remained close and supportive to Pasternak during the official persecution campaign against him after his Nobel Prize for Literature award. Arrested again, 1960, this time together with her daughter, Irina, and accused of being Pasternak’s link with the Western publishers. Sentenced to 8 years in prison camp.
Released, 1964.
