Served from the early 1930s in border-guard detachments under the control of the NKVD-Committee for State Security. Specialized in the training of dogs (Alsatians for tracking and concentration camp duties). Until his retirement in 1961, managed to catch about 500 people trying to cross the Soviet border.
One of the most qualified dog handlers in the Soviet state security system. Hero of the Soviet Union, 1965. Awarded the Order of Lenin and other high awards.
