Grandson of Stalin’s Foreign Minister. Active in the human rights movement, 1967. Lost his job. Arrested, 1968, for participating in the demonstration on Red Square against the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia.
Exiled to Siberia. Released, 1972, and resumed dissident activity. Threatened by the Committee for State Security, he left the USSR in 1974. Lives in the USA.
