Studied at the Moscow Choreographic School. Studied at the Moscow Choreographic School. Graduated in 1926. Pupil of Vaganova, later her assistant in Leningrad.
Joined the Red Army, 1934, and the Bolshevik Party, 1939. Took part in the Soviet-Finnish war and World War II as an artillery officer. In the 1950s and 1960s, one of the most high-ranking artillery and rocket forces officers.
Commander of Soviet rocket and artillery forces, 1962-1965. Deputy commander of rocket land forces, 1965, and commander, 1969-1983.

Ballet-dancer in the Khar’kov and Sverdlovsk theatres. Starred in Iakobson’s Utrachennye Illiuzii, a ballet staged in 1936. In 1940, danced in occupied L’vov.
Deported by the Germans as an Ostarbeiter to a factory in Leipzig. After the war, set up a ballet school in Ingolstadt. In 1949, moved to America.
Taught at T. Semenova’s Ballet Studio in Philadelphia. Moved to New York, where she taught at the American Ballet Theater. From autumn 1982, a teacher at the M. Heiden Ballet School.
Travelled all over the world, employed as a ballet teacher by various ballet companies.
