Founder of Sand Springs, Oklahoma. Built Shell Creek Dam (cost of $1,500,000) to supply water to Sand Springs and Tulsa.
President Sand Springs Railroad Company, San Springs Power, Light & Water Company, Sand Springs Gas Company, Sand Springs State Bank.
Built Sand Springs Cotton Mill (cost $2,000,000), 2d largest cotton textile mill west of Mississippi River. Founder, 1908, Sand Springs Home for 100 orphans with incorporated endowment sufficient for permanent maintenance. Founder “Widows’ Colony,” to assist widows to become self-supporting.
