Bau Tsih-ching attended Baptist Middle School at Ningpo. He got the Bachelor of Arts degree at University of Shanghai in 1914. Later, in 1916 Bau Tsih-ching graduated from Shanghai Baptist Theological Seminary of advance course.
Bau Tsih-ching was a pastor of Hangchow 1st Baptist Church between 1916 and 1922. He also worked as an executive secretary of the National Daily Vacation Bible School from 1920 to 1922. Mr. Bau was a director of the Community Center in Hangchow (1918-1922). Known as a China delegate to the enlarged meeting of the International Missionary Council held at Jerusalemthat took place
in March, 1928. Moreover, in 1928 he was a fraternal delegate to the Northern Baptist Con-vention in Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A., and a China delegate to the 4th World Congress of the Baptist World Alliance, Toronto, Canada, in June, 1928.
Bau Tsih-ching was elected one of vice-presidents and given the degree of Doctor of Divinity by McMaster University, Toronto, Canada. He was a delegate to the World's Tenth Sunday School Convention in Los Angles, Cal., U.S.A., in 1928. Mr. Bau was a chairman of the National Christian Council between 1928 and 1929 and a general secretary, Chekiang Shanghai Baptist Convention, since 1922. He was a Honorary Secretary of China Baptist Alliance, Honorary Secretary of the China Baptist Council and dean-elect of Shanghai Baptist Theological Seminary.
