Loveland began his career as a securities analyst at John H. G. Pell & Co. in 1957. Three years later he took a position of a workshop investigator at Morse, Williams & Co. Then in 1963, John was appointed a general associate at Pell Gallery. In 1975, he became a typesetter and editor in New York City.
Also he served as a regional representative at First Investors Corporation from 1978 to 1979. In 1980, Loveland held a position of a vice president at Wall St. Management Corporation. In 1985, he was an insurance agent at Equitable Finance Services. In 1988, John became an editor of Beauty Fashion, Inc. In 1997 he founded New Earth Foundation. In addition, since 2000 Loveland has been a founder, president and chief executive officer at Earth Community Research Corporation.

2017Loveland was a member of American Association of Retired Persons, Fort Ticonderoga Association, Academy of Political Science and New York Academy of Sciences. He was a first president of New Earth Foundation.
