(International comics sensation and opera star Too Much Co...)
International comics sensation and opera star Too Much Coffee Man returns to the printed page! Collecting acclaimed cartoonist Shannon Wheeler’s musings on modern life, Cutie Island brings together Too Much Coffee Man and a host of other characters into one neuroses-packed volume! A new cartoon collection from the mind of Eisner Award-winning, Harvey-nominated, and current New Yorker cartoonist, Shannon Wheeler! Too Much Coffee Man, the long-underwear-clad hero, returns to the printed page in his first new adventures since having his life remade in opera form. Wheeler remains one of the best satirists of a generation, lending a hilariously cynical eye to Too Much Coffee Man’s struggle to make sense of the ever-changing modern world—with a space-octopus thrown in for good measure, of course.

( This semi-autobiographical, hyper-intellectual, high-co...)
This semi-autobiographical, hyper-intellectual, high-concept comic appeals to both inside and outside the comic book world. Even Henry Rollins says TMCM is "the only comic I would really pay attention to, because I like the idea. 'Too Much Coffee Man' has a lot to say. He's a great apocalyptic philosopher for our very troubled times." Holy crap. That's Henry Rollins. The TMCM Omnibus, at over 500 pages, was a pain in the ass to put together. It was solicited and canceled multiple times- becoming one of the most anticipated books around. Many editors were fired and a few of them went insane. Wheeler said, "I stopped going to conventions and slept in my closet because too many people asked me about the TMCM Omnibus." Wheeler is once again making public appearances. The book is real, it is in stores, weighs as much as a small child, and it's getting attention. Too Much Coffee Man Omnibus collects five books previously published by Dark Horse: • TMCM: Parade of Tirade • TMCM: Guide for the Perplexed • TMCM: Amusing Musings • TMCM: How To Be Happy • Screw Heaven, When I Die I'm Going to Mars • as well as a number of unpublished brand new Too Much Coffee Man stories.

(A cult favorite, Too Much Coffee Man appeals to all of us...)
A cult favorite, Too Much Coffee Man appeals to all of us who can get through the day only with the aid of heavy doses of hot, steaming, caffeine-in-a-cup. Too Much Coffee Man (TMCM to his fans) is a sort of heroic Everyman, with a nicotine habit and a huge cup of coffee for a hat. He can't leap tall buildings, run faster than a speeding bullet, or for that matter do any of the standard super-things. Still, he is ready to fly to Mars on a minute's notice if the need arises...a positive mental attitude attributable to the power of caffeine. Special Edition.

(A stalwart of the alternative comics scene, Shannon Wheel...)
A stalwart of the alternative comics scene, Shannon Wheeler has forged ever forward, wrapping his acerbic signature character around numerous social, political, and philosophical subjects. From consumer culture to self-confidence to bad media, Too Much Coffee Man wades through the underarm of human existence, centering on those habits we hate to love: liquor, cigarettes, ego, gambling, and, of course, caffeine. Observe Too Much Coffee Man as he encounters reality programming, cognitive dissonance, waifish supermodels, infotainment, hot McDonalds' coffee, and haiku.

(Too Much Coffee Man has been percolating in the comics un...)
Too Much Coffee Man has been percolating in the comics underground for years now, and like everything else that was once "alternative," he's sold out, been used by the man (as an advertising tool for Hewlitt Packard and Converse, among others), and is now middle-aged, depressed, broke, and cynical. Who better to write a book, then, called How to be Happy? Combining his signature formula of hilarious art, absurd but insightful observations, and bold humor, with his quickly deteriorating hope for humanity, Wheeler has crafted a comics collection custom made for the disaffected and disenfranchised.
