1921 graduated Gnesin Moscow Musical College. 1926 graduated piano class, Moscow Conservatory.
1928-1934 instructor, Moscow Conservatory. Interpreted major works of Soviet composers A. Khachaturyan, V. Shebalin, S. Prokofiev, Yu. Shaporin and others; 1927 played at first Chopin International Competition in Warsaw.
Gave concerts in Poland, Czechoslovakia, Rumania, Sweden, France, Austria, Greece and other countries. Plays in regular sonata ensemble with D. Oistrakh (violin) and in trio ensemble with D. Oistrakh and S. Knushevitsky (cello). Author of numerous piano pieces, sonatas, romances, symphonic scherzos, etc.
