1922 studied on short-term officers’ courses at Orenburg. 1922 graduated Moscow Military Pedagogical School. 1934 graduated Institute of Red Professor.
1915-1916 began to write poetry. After 1917 Revolution took part in work of literature socs. and Orenburg newspaper “Bolshevik”, toying with theories of cosmism. Member, literature society, Crimean Association, of Young Poets of the Proletarian Front, and worked for “Sevastopolskaya morskaya gazeta” (Sevastopol Marine Gazette).
Early and mid 1930's censured by Soviet press for formalism. After World War II member, Soviet cultural delegation Rumania, Hungary, Poland, Czechoslovakia, and East Germany. During Zhdanov era a cycle of lyrical poems again provoked sharp criticism.
Worked at asbestos mines and as salesman. 1917-1919 in Tsarist Army. 1919-1922 in Red Army.
1922-1926 taught society science at military school in the Crimea. 1926-1929 taught society science in Lefort Artillery School, Moscow. 1929-1931 Assistant Editor, journal “Krasnoarmeets” (Red Army Man).
1934-1939 literature work. 1939-1940 took part in campaign against Western Ukrainia and Belarusian during partition of Poland. 1941-1945 in Red Army and corresponding for front press.
