SKOBLIKOVA, Lidiya was born in 1931 in Zlatoust, Chelyabinsk Oblast.
Studied at Physical Training Faculty, Chelyabinsk Pedagogical Institute.
1955 competed in oblast competitions of “Iskra” Sporting Society and member, Chelyabinsk Oblast picked team. Competed in Moscow, finishing 2nd in 3,000 meters and 1st in 1,500 meters. At 1957 Russian Soviet Federated Socialist Republic Championship and Russian Soviet Federated Socialist Republic Popular Spartakiada set up records in women’s 3,000 meters and 1,500 meters skating and in total pointage obtained in allround combined skating competition.
1959 3rd in Women's World Skating Championship at Sverdlovsk. 2nd in Six Cities Contest held in Moscow. 1960 1st in 3,000 meters at USSR Skating Championship held at Alma Ata.
At 1960 Winter Olympic Games at Squaw Valley became double World Champion and Olympic Champion by taking 1st place in 3,000 meters and 4th place in 1,000 meters event.
