1926 graduated Leningrad School of Choreography.
1926-1930 at Leningrad Academy Theater of Opera and Ballet. 1930-1939 at Bolshoy Theater, Moscow. 1939-1940 Artistic Director, Belarusian Theater of Opera and Ballet, Minsk.
1940 established Riga Ballet in Latvia, after which he returned to Moscow. Lead roles in: Tchaikovsky’s “Lebedinoe ozero” (Swan Lake). Minkus’ “Don Kikhot” (Don Quixote).
Adan’s “Giselle”; Glier’s “Medny vsadnik” (The Bronze Horseman). Asafev’s “Plamya Parizha” (The Flame of Paris). Roles: Filipp in Arsenev’s “The Flame of Paris”.
