My professional contributions have been twofold. Firstly I played a part in the revival in the historical discussion of financial policy by economists and economic historians on the basis of the available primary documentary evidence — a revival that has resulted in a number of books, articles and dissertations since 1969. Secondly, I have provided economists and others with raw materials in the form of the Collected Writings of John Maynard Keynes, so that they can reassess the work and the contributions of Keynes to modern economic theory and policy.
